What this guide covers: creating and managing groups of animals, and how membership history is preserved as animals move between groups.
What it doesn't cover: assigning a group in bulk from the Animals page — see Animals's bulk actions.
Creating a groupCreating a group
Found at LITS → Herds & Groups — a card grid, one card per group, showing its member count and active/inactive state. Click New Group and set a name, description, and a type:
| Type | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Herd | A standing management herd. |
| Lot | Animals grouped for a sale or auction. |
| Camp Group | Animals currently sharing a camp. |
| Mob | A working grouping for a specific task. |
| Draft | A provisional grouping, not yet finalised. |
| Treatment Group | Animals being treated or vaccinated together. |
Membership & history
Click a group's card to open its detail drawer and manage members — add or remove animals directly, or assign them in bulk from the Animals page. Every membership records a joined date and, once an animal leaves, a left date — so an animal's full group history is preserved rather than overwritten each time it moves.
