Movements & Permits

An animal's journey from one holding to another — tracked through a four-stage pipeline, and backed by the permit that makes it lawful.

What this guide covers: recording an individual animal's movement between holdings and issuing the permit behind it.

What it doesn't cover: moving a whole group, which needs a sealed departure manifest first — see Review Queue — or giving an outside transporter or receiver their own scoped view of a movement to confirm — see External Access Portal.

Pipeline

The movement pipeline

Found at LITS → Movements. A four-stage status strip with live counts — Pending → Loaded → In Transit → Arrived — sits above a card list of movement records, each showing origin holding, destination holding, and status.

  1. Click New Movement.
  2. Choose the animal, the from-holding and to-holding, and optionally link an existing permit.
  3. Add notes if needed, then save — it starts Pending.
  4. Click Record Loading when the animal is loaded, and Record Offloading once it arrives — these actions advance the status strip.
Permits

Permits

A separate table on the same page lists permits — permit number, type (movement, import, export, treatment, or slaughter), issuing authority, and expiry. Click New Permit to register one, then link it to a movement when you create it.

Moving a group

Moving a group

This page is oriented around a single animal at a time plus the permit register. Moving a whole group requires a departure manifest to be created and sealed first, and its external offload confirmation is approved from the Review Queue, not from here.
