Products & Vaccine Batches

What this guide covers: registering a product, tracking a vaccine batch through its lifecycle, cold-chain evidence, and supply-chain records.

Products

Found at LITS → Products & Batches. Click New Product to register a medicine, vaccine, chemical or supplement — the catalogue every treatment and vaccination event picks from.

Vaccine batches

KPI tiles show vaccine count and active/expired/expiring-soon batches. Click New Batch for a lot number under a product; open a batch to manage its lifecycle:

The batch drawer also holds evidence fields — a cold-chain document, a lawful-source document, import/manufacture evidence, storage instructions, required temperature range, and dosage/route instructions. These are traceability records, not a certification claim.

Cold-chain logs

Add a log entry for each custody stage a batch passes through — supplier dispatch, courier handover, farm receipt, storage check, field transport, pre-administration, administration — and flag any entry as a deviation. These logs drive the batch's overall compliance status: missing, partial, compliant, or deviation-recorded — which is exactly what Field Capture's FMD sub-form checks before letting an administration proceed.

Supply chain tracking

Beyond cold chain, a batch can track its supply sources (manufacturer, importer, distributor, agent, vet supplier, state supply, or other), supply receipts recorded against it, and campaign allocations — a planning-only link to an FMD campaign that does not itself decrement stock. Actual posted or reversed stock consumption against a batch is shown separately, in its own Stock Consumption Links list, with a running total by unit — kept visibly distinct from the allocation-only planning list so you never confuse a plan with what was actually used.
